A Facebook post has gone viral, alerting animal rights activists in Houston to a dog in need of immediate assistance. The dog was abused and deformed by its cruel owner.
Gus, the dog, was eager to be rescued and ran to the rescuers right away. Gus’s neck was wrapped in a shoelace, causing a deformity in his head – a large swelling.
According to the neighbors, Gus has been in this bad shape for more than a year.
The rescuers rushed to the nearest animal hospital, where they learned that the dog needed to be operated on. However, they were forced to stop because the scar tissue was becoming too heavy.
The dog was taken to Texas A&M Small Animal Clinic for soft tissue treatment until surgery could be performed.
The dog, fortunately, underwent surgery and is now in good health.
Fortunately for Gus, he was adopted by a caring family and would spend the rest of his life in an everlasting home. What a sweetie! Take a look at the video below.
