Sezar Sanctuary’s rescuers learned of a dog rotting in a filthy junkyard. The dog had been sick and hungry for days, but the locals made a show of his suffering, waiting for him to succumb to his injuries.
The rescuers’ skin crawled with fear as they arrived to save the dog.
They discovered that the dog had been injured by his abuser, who had attempted to strangle him with a rope. The dog made a desperate attempt to flee his tormentor, but the rope kept cutting into his flesh. As the infection spread, his wounds became infected and his face swelled up.
The rescuers were disturbed by the fact that no one felt even a smidgeon of compassion for the dog. They thought he was worthless and wanted to “save themselves” from having to watch him suffer. The rescuers, on the other hand, promised to give him a chance to recover. They gave him the name Delavar (which means “courageous” in the local dialect) and carried him to the hospital for treatment.
