Brave Young Girl Along With Her Dog Rescue A Goat And Her Newborn Baby

Hamdü Sena Bilgin is 11 years old. She lives in a small village outside of the Turkish city of Rize.

Hamdü Sena and her family run a small farm where they raise milking goats. She is a goatherd who protects and guides the animals.

Tomi, her dog, is always by her side to assist her, even in the cold winter months.

Hamdü Sena and her faithful dog were recently tending to goats grazing on a snowy hillside far from home when one of them unexpectedly went into labor. The young goatherd sprang into action, fearful that the goat and her soon-to-arrive baby would be too weak to make it back on their own.

“I led the rest of the herd back to their shelter after the goat gave birth,” Hamdü Sena told The Dodo. “Then I went back to the goat and her baby with Tomi, grabbing two backpacks from the house.”

Although the backpacks are normally stuffed with books and school supplies, their contents would be far more valuable on this day.

When Hamdü Sena returned to the location, she loaded the mother goat into one backpack and the baby goat into the other. Tomi was the one who carried her.

Hamdü Sena said, “He’s a good dog.” “Wonderful.”

They worked together to get the new family to safety through the steep, wintery terrain.

“I was exhausted because the snow was so thick,” Hamdü Sena said. “However, it was well worth it.”

Near the end of the trek, she was joined by her brother, who took photos of the rescue in progress.

The mother goat and her baby are now safe and sound thanks to Hamdü Sena and Tomi’s dedication to the animals they care for. While the brave 11-year-old may consider it her duty to protect the herd from harm, her story has gone viral, and she has received an outpouring of support online.

The overwhelming sentiment is that Hamdü Sena embodies what it means to love animals… and we only have to look at Tomi and her herd to see that animals adore her as well.
