A helpless little soul was discovered on the side of the road in desperate need of assistance. As the rescuers approached, they noticed he had a badly broken jaw.
His suffering must’ve been unimaginable. The moment he was in the rescuers’ care, though, his suffering was officially a thing of the past.
While his broken jaw kept him from eating or drinking, his body began to deteriorate. It was time to take care of that in a medical setting.
The puppy was taken to a compassionate veterinarian who never turns animals away. He was sedated so the doctor could clean his wounds and determine what needed to be done next.
Everyone was astounded by the little dog’s strength and bravery in the face of adversity. He took a large drink on his own after being made more comfortable.
Because his jaw was completely separated from his mouth, the vet needed to bring in a specialist. It’s difficult to look at, but we promise he’ll get better!
The next step for him is surgery! The operation went off without a hitch. The puppy still needed time and constant supervision. He also gets bandages changed on a daily basis to keep his wounds clean.
Each day, the brave pup faced his recovery with sheer determination. Soon he was able to eat soft dog food from a syringe. He got a bit possessive of his food since he remembered how hard it was to come by while living on the streets. No worries, little guy, you’ll always have a meal now!
The puppy, now named Lai, had completely changed in six days. He was now able to stand and walk. His tail is also wagging! It may not appear to be much, but it is a huge deal. This means Lai is in significantly less pain.
Lai is doing much better, and we owe it to the rescuers and volunteer medical staff! He will be placed for adoption soon and will find a loving family. The video below depicts Lai’s rescue.
