George arrived with broken paws at the Del Rio Animal Control Facility in Texas. The sweet 6-month-old Labrador Retriever had reached the shelter’s limit for how long dogs can be kept alive. A group of dancers stepped up just as he was about to be euthanized.
The rescue group was founded in 2020 with the goal of raising awareness about animal welfare and saving lives. George’s life would be saved thanks to Dancers for Dogs.
“George is too traumatized to leave his small apartment,” they wrote on Facebook. “He is terrified of us, and he has given up hope.” He has surrendered. He is in discomfort.”
An examination revealed that the puppy’s legs had been broken but had never healed properly, and surgery would not help. He is given medical attention, food, and medications.
He is improving and taking small steps toward recovery. Though his road to turnaround is long, George has a great team who loves and believes in him.
