Lee Asher grew up in Los Angeles, California, with an odd family of nine rescued animals who lived alone. Asher had known since he was a child that he was meant to help animals in need, and he had rescued 16 of them since then.
As a child, Asher used to spend a lot of time at an animal shelter near his house, learning about the rescue process. As a result, he realized that his adult life’s work would be to rescue animals and assist them find homes as much as possible.
Asher, who spoke with The Dodo, stated that:
“I always knew I’d grow up with a house full of rescued animals, so where I am today comes as no surprise to me or anyone who has known me since I was a child.”
The man brought seven dogs to his house, Yaffa, Molly, Cali, BoBo, Butters, Haven, and Lillie, as well as two cats, Whiskey and Goose.
He’s always been able to assist these beings. They were all saved from various forms of abandonment and have had a wonderful life as a result.
According to Asher:
“Inspiration comes from a love for dogs and the realization that by rescuing a dog, you are not only saving a life, but also making room for more rescued animals to be adopted.” It’s a win-win situation with a fantastic feeling.”
