It hurts a lot when we find a dog in trouble because they are innocent beings. They find themselves in a difficult situation through no fault of their own.
The same thing happened with one dog which was found in the countryside by the members of the Diasozo Animal Rescue Team in Karditsa Greece.
The dog was in very bad shape at that time. Fortunately, the members were eager to assist her and provide her with the assistance she needed.
The dog was found in a field and it had many injuries. The villagers called the rescue, and the workers rushed to help the dog.
When rescuers reached the dog whom they named Lydia, the dog was alone in the field. She was extremely weak and had a massive rotting wound on her back, and she needed immediate medical attention.
Very carefully, Lydia was taken to an area clinic. They lifted her and carried her out of the sector. They moved slowly in order not to injure her further.
They decided to take her directly to the vet. Lydia was therefore prepared for the journey. She was wrapped in a blanket and placed in the back of the vehicle in a kennel.
She had to be kept safe as she was to be treated for her injuries. They eventually reached it to the vet. Lydia jumped out of her cage when they opened it. Despite her injury, she was very excited. She moved with a limp and was then examined by placing her on an examination table.
After examining her, it was found that apart from the large wound on her neck, she also had a smaller one on her injured leg where the bone had broken and punched through.
Lydia got treatment for her injuries and she started recovering day by day. Even though she limped around, she had improved significantly and had more energy than she had previously.
She was driven to her foster home where she would complete her recovery before being placed into a new home for more on DAR Animal Rescue, check out the organization’s Facebook page.
