That is exactly what happened to Jordy, a sweet German Shepherd puppy. He was abandoned after only two months with his new family.
He was dumped at Carson Animal Shelter dogs on a sunny afternoon in California, along with his toys, food, and favorite blanket.
The shock of being abandoned left the poor pup in a sorry state.
He cried himself to sleep.
Because of the shock and confusion he felt, he shut down and stopped eating, spending the entire day sitting with his head down and occasionally taking sips of water.
Every night he cried himself to sleep.
Jordy was in a shelter where space was limited and animals that were not adopted within a certain time frame had to be put down to make room for the constant influx of abandoned pets and strays.
No dog should have to live this way.
Thankfully, he was adopted just in time, and hopefully he is now receiving all of the love he deserves from dedicated animal lovers.
Everyone who is thinking about getting a dog should consider this. You should not get a dog if you are unsure whether you can give it the time and love it requires.
